To do something unintentionally which makes a situation worse for oneself. Malgré le fait qu’elle ait envoyé à la presse une lettre anonyme de plaintes au sujet de son entreprise, il était évident que c’était Melinda qui l’avait écrite. Elle s’est vraiment tiré une balle dans le pied et, sans surprise, elle a été formellement sanctionnée. |
