Switzerland : The Swatch group Headquarters in Bienne to grow

The biggest watchmaking group in the world wants some new buildings. The architectural  competition has been won by the Chinese architect Shigeru Ban.The work should start in November and be finished during the summer of 2015.

According to the Swatch press release, the three new buildings will be built in accordance with the latest ecological and energy efficiency norms.

The new main wooden framed building will host the Swatch and Omega brands as well as other members of the Swatch group. The public will also be able to access the Swatch and Omega musems, in addition to one dedicated to Swatchmobile – a pioneer in the fuel cell field. The rest of the place will be composed of administration offices and conference rooms for both companies.

Another wooden framed structure will host the Omega production and logistics centre and training and exhibition spaces.
