UK: Royal Mail threatened by renewed strike threat
25 octobre 2010 //With the government preparing to debate the proposed privatisation of the Royal Mail on Wednesday, Unite has announced plans to ballot 15 000 managers over plans to cut 1500 jobs in London. The proposed losses could include compulsory redundancies if not enough people volunteer to leave.
Previously, strike action has been coordinated by the Communications Workers Union (CWU), the body representing the majority of Royal Mail’s 160 000 workers. Any new action could have both unions joining forces in protest against privatisation.
