Ashoka: Sustaining Social Entrepreneurship

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Working to promote social entrepreneurship, the Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Ashoka selects innovative projects aiming at providing solutions for social and environmental issues. It supports entrepreneurs working for social and environmental concerns, so called ‘social entrepreneurs’.

The NGO provides grants, advice, coaching and a networking environment to social entrepreneurs, while seeking out  innovative solutions in the field. The pragmatic creation of social services in different fields also benefits traditional entrepreneurs by giving insights on the evolutions in their sector, as well as saving money through innovations. The concept of business co-creation implies that social and traditional entrepreneurs work together.

On November 26th 2012, Ashoka, which has built a worldwide network of 3000 social entrepreneurs (Fellows), has invited its premium Swiss community to a conference. The objectives are to have  two Swiss Fellows supported by the association in 2012 present their projects, to select the winner of the Ashoka Impact Competition and to discuss the potential of business co-creation.

The event is taking place at the Auditoire Louis Jeantet in Florissant, Geneva from 6 to 8 pm.
