Australia: Unemployment in unexpected fall
After Australia’s unemployment rate increased to 5.8% in October, November’s figures showed a reduction in the rate of 0.1% – the equivalent of creating 30 800 full-time jobs. The numbers had been expected to rise to 5.9%. Australia has been able to weather most of the economic storm caused during the worldwide crisis due to continuing demand from China for mineral resources.
