UK: BMI facing legal action by union

The union Unite is to sue BMI -a subsidiary of Lufthansa- in the High Court, claiming that the airline has failed to honour a pay agreement for 3000 of its members.
Both sides agreed a deal in 2007 which gave staff pay increases in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Unite asserts that it agreed to put off payment of the 2009 award until 31 March 2010 as a result of the economic crisis, but staff have yet to receive this third rise.
