UK: Former executive in £1m sex discrimination case
A former executive at Mazars, a City accounting firm, is suing the company after she was sacked following her decision to apply to be the UK senior partner. Fiona Hotston Moore asserts she was demoted after the current senior partner, David Evans, learned she wanted to stand in competition with him for the senior job.
Moore says she then had additional requirements imposed on her candidature for the position which were not required of the other candidate, Mr Evans before she was finally suspended, asked to resign and then sacked in March 2010.
Mazars has denied all the claims.
