UK: Maker of iconic black cab considering job cuts
With sales of the quintessentially British black cab down 9.1% in the eight months to August 2009, the parent company of the producer LTI – Manganese Bronze Holdings – is said to be considering ‘rationalisation of the maufacturing operations’ which could result in redundancies. The Unite union is planning to enter into discussion with the company to try and reduce the need for any compulsory job losses. LTI currently employs over 400 people in Coventry.
