McDonald’s has announced plans to create some 2500 positions in the UK, with half of them going to ‘young people’ and approximately 30% to people entering the workforce for the first time.
Commenting on the news, the deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, praised the company’s approach to training, apprenticeships and providing opportunities to staff, saying “This invests valuable time and resources to help young people, with little or no experience in the world of work, to develop their skills and confidence. In the end, that gives young people a terrific opportunity to move up within the company, or use their experience and training to move into other jobs.”
