The Conservative Party plans to give every public sector employee the right to request flexible working if it is elected and will also consult with the private sector over similar measures. The manifesto, published this morning, also calls for 400 000 apprenticeship places, grants of £2000 for each apprentice taken on by small businesses and ‘targetted, personalised’ help for people searching for work.
With regards to pensions, the party also promises to means test the state pension as well as looking at the differences between public and private sector pension provisions.
