The Breast Cancer Awareness Month, marked in countries across the world every October, helps to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease.
In light of this global event, Genève-Servette HC (GSHC) are hosting their annual Pink Night at Vernets on Saturday 5th October.
It also marks 14 years of collaboration between GSHC and Le Réseau Cancer du Sein ASAP. This team-work is designed to raise awareness among GSHC’s female audience about early detection of breast cancer. On this night, too, all ladies purchasing tickets gets a discount.
In Geneva, approximately 450 women, or 1 out of 8, are diagnozed with breast cancer every year.
Great start to the season
The Genève-Servette team have had a good start of the season and was at the top of the league after seven rounds. They are, however, coming from two bitter losses but are looking forward to get two wins this weekend.
On Friday they are playing against SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in Rapperswil and on Saturday, they are taking on Davos at home in front of a pink audience.
