According to a survey released by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in Bern, consumer confidence has shown significant improvement. For the first time since March 2012, a gain of more than 6 points above the historical average has been recorded, outperforming the previous quarters that had been only just above average. This new confidence is the result of households' optimistic view on the development of the economic situation and future opportunities for savings. However, expectations for labour market trends remain pessimistic.
